Q3-vic Solution
The Q3vic Solution software from Sodick communicates with 3D CAD data that has been imported into the system, analyzing the workpiece geometry and working together with the "LQ Asset" software to precisely and automatically optimize the fine EDM parameters controlling the linear Sodick die-sinker EDM and Wire-cut EDM machines.
Regardless of the skills of the operator and the shape of the workpiece, even the most complex tasks can be performed with optimal result – in a fraction of the time it would take using conventional EDM control. Using optimized process parameters, the new Q3vic Solution software improves a productivity up to 40 percent.
- Easy operation
- Efficient
- Quick setup
- Operator error is minimized
- High quality machining
- Operating costs is reduced
- Productivity is improved
- Delivery is shortened
- Directly imports 3D Solid model and automatically computes the entire discharge area belonging to the shape of the projected area.
- Recognize the nearest distance between electrode and workpiece and automatically computes the EDM gap.
- Together with LQ 3D, it automatically extracts the ideal machining conditions for the required surface finish.
- Maximises the machining performance, as well as, keeping the stability and efficiency at all times independent of the operators skills and training.
The concept behind Q3vic Solution is as simple as it is ingenious. 3D solid data are imported directly from the CAD system via an interface to Sodick’s new 3D-CNC controller, LQ 3D. Once there, the data are analyzed by special software and then automatically converted into processing data. For the first time, the user can close the gap in the three-dimensional process chain from design to production, eliminating time-consuming detours via CAM systems and abstract 2D data at the machine.

Step 1 : Enter CAD file
- Import the electrode & workpiece 3D model file, input the electrode – workpiece material, orbit pattern & required surface finish.
- By entering the 3D model file, the machine knows the exact electrode to work piece relationship thereby maximizing machining efficiency.
Step 2 : No NC Code
- Import the electrode & workpiece 3D model file, input the electrode – workpiece material, orbit pattern.
Step 3 : Machine without Flushing
- The part is ready to machine without any type of flushing.
If no CAD data available
- Just select the user-friendly LN Assist page and input the required cutting data.
