1976~  Genesis
Year Detail
1976 Aug Sodick Co., Ltd was established in Midori-ku, Yokohama City with a capital of Yen20,000,000.  Mr. Toshihiko Furukawa was appointed as President.
Branch offices opened in various places of Japan.
Old days when Furukawa had devoted his time to experiment(Toshihiko Furukawa) Times when Mr. Furukawa devoted himself to experiment.
Dec First NC Die-sinker EDM with microcomputer was delivered.
1977 Mar Power supply "GPC" series for CNC Die-sinker EDM was completed.
1978 Dec Head office moved to 1120 Nippa-cho, Kohoku-ku, Yokohama City.

1980 Jun Fukui plant was completed at Sakai-cho, Sakai, Fukui Prefecture as a main production center.

1981 Jan CNC Wire-cut EDM "330W" equipped with 5 axes control started its sales.

1982 Jan Power supply "8133" for Die-sinker EDM with built-in 16 bit micro-computer was developed and started its sales.
(The name changed to "MARK III" in April, 1982)
Mar Special machining fluid, "VITOL" for Die-sinker EDM was developed.
Apr Sales of FINE Sodick "A" series CNC Die-sinker EDM started.
Oct Construction of new head office(Shin-yokohama) was completed.

1983 Mar "MARK IV" and "MARK V,"new CNC power supply units, were announced.

Nov Die-sinker EDM with CNC 4 axes plus a rotating spindle was developed.
1984 Sep Small hole drilling EDM was announced.
Nov Ultra fine finish circuit "PIKA 2" for Wire-cut EDM was announced.
"A1C" CNC Die-sinker EDM and also CNC Control "MARK VII" were announced.
1985 Feb New EDM series "EPOC" was announced.
Nov "Private show" sponsored by Sodick Eastern Japan Dealer Association was held at Tokyo International Exhibition Center(Harumi).
New interactive NC controls "MARK X" and "MARK XI" enabling color, Chinese character CRT display were announced.

1986 Feb Sodick Co., Ltd. was listed on the 2nd section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Oct CNC Die-sinker EDM equipped with 3D measuring device "AP3S-ATC" was announced.

1987 Mar Kaga plant with FMS (Flexible manufacturing system) system was inaugurated.

1993 Apr A CNC control "NF" was invented utilizing nuero-fuzzy logic.
May A high precision Wire-cut EDM, "EXC100" was announced.  Machine body is made of ceramics.

  • "BS II" of electrolysis-free high accuracy finish circuit for Wire-cut EDM
